We have prepared a description of [[The Agenda Process]]. The process is designed to address the main issues facing the community. This process is designed to be ongoing. We invite you to read the invitations and questions, and review the process, then supply your input through this [http://agenda.clustermonkey.net/agendaform.html form]. You may elect to get update email about the agenda as well by using the form.

We invite '''all community members''' to help in creating the Agenda.  Contributing to the Agenda is quite [http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_User's_Guide:_Editing_overview easy]. Please go to either:

Cluster Tweaks™

Note: The Cluster Agenda is changing to Cluster Tweaks

Taking clusters to the next level

Tweak (v): to adjust or modify slightly, so as to improve performance, efficiency, etc.; fine-tune

Computational Clusters have grown from a back room curiosity to a driving force in the HPC community. The roll your own nature of cluster computing has also created a wide community of users, vendors, and applications. Cluster Tweaks is an effort to help track ideas, notes, projects, benchmarks, products, and anything else that helps facilitate HPC cluster computing. A more formal presentation of HPC cluster topics can be found at Cluster Monkey.

Cluster Tweaks is a Wiki and allows registered users the ability to make changes to the site. (Some of the main pages are locked, however). We require a valid email address to limit article spamming.

Project Scope

The word cluster has many meanings. The Cluster Agenda is clearly focused on computational or High Performance Computing (HPC) Clusters. Cluster Tweaks is a place where tricks, tips, how-to's, benchmarks, notes, experiences etc can be recorded and shared with the community.

There are two main components:

  • The Catagories - a compendium of current benchmarks, products, technologies, methods, best practices, etc. that will help those interested in clustering.
  • Cluster Challenges - a collection of user identified challenges that need special focus from the community. If you have an interest in addressing these issues, please feel free to contribute your opinion.

How You Can Contribute To Cluster Tweaks

Contributors must register. Our Privacy Policy is very clear and we will not use names or email for any purpose other than for the Agenda. For editing tips (it is really quite easy) you can check this page . We also have an Attribution Page where you can add your name as a contributor.

History

As many of you are aware, ClusterWorld magazine, the initial sponsor of the Cluster Agenda, has ceased publication. As editor of ClusterWorld magazine, Douglas Eadline was the principle organizer of the Agenda effort. Now that he and the core columnists from ClusterWorld have established the Cluster Monkey website, they have decided to continue with the Agenda Initiative as well and rename it to Cluster Tweaks. The original Agenda Working Committee was Jeff Layton, Glen Otero, Dan Stanzione, and Douglas Eadline.
